Designed by Margit Pelényi, along with several other buildings in this city, this development contains four apartments stretched along the longitudinal boundaries of a corner site in downtown Pécs on Radnics Street, which creeps up a hillside. The levels of the commonly used smaller terraced courtyard between the apartments are accessible from the corner via a lower entrance, the design of which was meant to soften the compact appearance of the mass. The site, much like a frame, is filled in by the houses and their courtyards, outlined by walls. Within this split-up, enclosure-type development, the apartments turn inward and open towards the surrounded internal courtyard with a fenced-off yard on the ground floor. There are large expanses of windows upstairs. The development shows its more closed façade towards the street. In the direction of the less busy street, the frame is split into two parts. Inside the cleft, the volumes of the stairs angling inward and blade walls rising as high as chimneys intensify the rhythm of the units. The floor plans are organised as one and the same type. The ground floor contains the communal kitchen, dining area and living rooms, the areas of which can be extended by opening them to the full in the direction of the marked-off patios, weather permitting. Stairs contained in a separate volume lead upstairs, where two or three bedrooms are housed. The hanging box evoking the colour of the neighbouring house, the recessed row of garages continuing the line of eaves on the ground floor, the roof inclinations, and the softening of the corner are sophisticated gestures expressing the goal of assimilation.
